Katrina Logan, Director
Katrina Logan is a registered Architect and director of LOGAN Architecture Studio. Katrina established her regional practice after relocating from Melbourne to Castlemaine in 2015. She has managed numerous projects in Castlemaine and surrounding areas including Maldon, Kyneton and Daylesford, bringing a site-specific, sustainable approach to every client brief.
While studying architecture at RMIT in the 1990s, Katrina studied under V.B. Doshi in India and was an intern in Daniel Libeskind's Berlin studio on the Jewish Museum team. After graduating, while juggling family life, Katrina worked for renowned practices in Melbourne, building her experience in arts, hospitality, education, heritage and multi-residential architecture. In 2006, Katrina won the Premier's Design Award sustainability prize for the internationally recognised LUMI rainwater tank, a design that increased the popularity of rainwater collection in urban environments.
Katrina is an advocate for multi-residential projects in regional Victoria - small footprint dwellings to suit diverse households, reduce our carbon footprint, prioritise nature and foster real-life connection. Passionate about re-purposing heritage buildings for contemporary uses, Katrina’s studio occupies a historic church, in which she has also built two much-loved apartments. Katrina lives in one of these, sharing the kitchen garden she designed with her neighbour.
Katrina has taught Professional Practice, Design and Construction Design at the University of Melbourne along with Sustainable Design at Swinburne University. She also practices yoga, paints and has two children.
